This is really old picture of me and my gf from about a year and a half ago. It was posted to another blog on tumblr and i came across it again recently and thought i’d repost it.

I love this picture to death. It’s beautiful to me for many reasons. It’s like the ultimate expression of love, its nude, not, naked cause we’re not ashamed, not ashamed of ourselves, our bodies or our love. That we have each other to make us feel safe in our most natural form. The fact that this picture is innocent, yet mature. It is innocent because we are completely nude, yet there is no real sexuality, even the kiss is so innocent, just a peck. But yet you can see the passion in our faces. But not just some raw sexual passion, but a mature loving caring passion, lust for the personality and the soul, not just the body. The fact that while we show everything, we really show nothing (no breasts, no genitals) but yet we still bare our true selves, that sexual parts of the body aren’t whats necessary to truly bare yourself and be nude. The face that this photo represents a sense of fun and freedom that we feel so free and uninhibited to be not only in the most natural state but to bare ourselves to the world and all of our friends and even strangers, showing the true strength of our love, our comfortability as a couple and how much fun we can be even if it seems like couples can be “tied down” and “boring”. The fact that this picture is taken with my low quality macbook pro camera. That although this picture is available for the word to see, the intimacy of the experience is just for us. It’s like our love, you may see a representation of it through but only we know the true intimacy. It’s not perfect, it’s not photoshopped or air brush it’s raw and real, just like love.

I love my gf very much and I’m very glad to have her and for us to be this comfortable and yet still fun. She’s the best and I am happy to have her.

Fun fact: This was improvised. The building was meant to explode and come down in one go and the crew had one take to get it right. When the explosions malfunctioned, Ledger reacted in character, and Nolan urged his crew to keep filming. By pure chance, it resulted in one of the greatest moments in the movie, and a moment that perfectly showcased Joker’s anarchic nature and Ledger’s sheer talent.
